Here are Spanish editions of one of the oldest and best-known piano methods! The First Grade Book is recommended for Spanish-speaking students who already have an elementary-level knowledge of the piano keyboard, note names, and reading from the grand staff. It begins with Music Land, an eight measure piece in C major position which has a melody of half notes in the right hand and harmony of half and whole notes in the left. Phrasing, articulation and form are emphasized from the beginning. Students move from the elementary to the intermediate level as they learn such concepts as accidentals, half and whole steps, syncopation, chords in inversions, the C Major scale and pieces in the following keys: C, G, D, A, E, F, Bb, Eb, Ab Major. Hand positions vary widely depending on what key you're in. This First Grade Book includes folk tunes, originals and arrangements of classics by the author. Finger numbers are provided liberally, for every new note, in every piece of this book. The Second Grade Book gives Spanish-speaking students the experience of playing at the intermediate level. Technical challenges such as tucking the thumb under and crossing fingers over is dealt with directly. New concepts such as the chromatic scale, ledger lines, pedalling, major and minor scales, arpeggios, primary chords and dominant sevenths are presented. Composer biographies and commentary on classical music and music history are provided for many pieces, as are preparatory exercises and etudes. Fingerings are provided liberally. A glossary of musical terms is included at the end.
When music excites our interest and imagination, we eagerly put our hearts into learning it. The music in the Hal Leonard Student Piano Library encourages practice, progress, confidence, and best of all - success! From the very first lessons in Book 1, students are making their own music as they explore the piano keyboard through fun improvisation pieces called My Own Song. The beginning of the method introduces finger numbers, the black-key and white key groups, and basic rhythmic patterns. Directional reading is taught first by finger number, then by note name, and then by interval (step, skip, and repeat). Once students are introduced to the staff, they learn reading guides bass F and treble G and read by interval in several different hand positions.
In 1945 Bela Bartok described Mikrokosmos as a cycle of 153 pieces for piano written for "didactic" purposes, seeing them as a series of pieces in many different styles, representing a small world, or as the "world of the little ones, the children." Stylistically, Mikrokosmos reflects the influence of folk music on Bartok's life. The rhythms and harmonies he employed create music that is as modern today as when the cycle was written. The 153 pieces making up Mikrokosmos are divided into six volumes arranged according to technical and musical difficulty. Major teaching points highlighted in Volume 1 include unison melodies, question and answer, imitation and inversion. Volume 2 includes staccato, legato, accompaniment in broken triads, and accents. Volume 3 covers triplets, broken chords, and chromatic invention. Volume 4 covers thumb under, crossed hands, and triplets in 9/8 time. Volume 5 covers chords together and opposed, studies in double notes, and the whole tone scale and Volume 6 includes divided arpeggios, minor seconds, major sevenths, and ostinato. Standard editions contain text in English, French, German, and Hungarian. Universal editions contain text in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Japanese. All volumes contain a preface by the editor, Peter Bartok (Bela Bartok's son), and a preface by the composer.
MIKROKOSMOS - Song List (Volumes 1 - 6)
As the title states, the Step By Step Piano Course, Spanish edition, introduces the piano by presenting new concepts gradually and ever so clearly, one step at a time. Book One takes several pages to present the group of 2 black keys and middle C on the keyboard and on the grand staff. The student reads from the grand staff immediately, playing lovely four-measure tunes in middle C position. Only middle C, D and B are played for several pages, one note at a time, and gradually the other notes of middle C position are introduced as well as a few harmony notes in the alternate hand. Middle C position is the only position offered in Book One. Fun, clearly presented, and child-oriented theory pages are interspersed to support and reinforce new concepts. All the tunes offered are originals by Ms. Burnam. Sweet, innocent drawings are found throughout the series.
This classic collection for the beginning piano student includes 30 adorable tunes at the early elementary to elementary level.
